How do I get involved?  What if I’m not a “real designer”?
First of all, if you create then you are a designer!  Have you ever added something?  Have you ever changed the dimensions?  What about leaving something out?  If you answered “yes“, then you are a designer!  We in no way imply that you can simply change a designer’s pattern and call it your own, that is very disrespectful to someone’s time, talents and resources.  However, like all designers, we get inspiration from many places and then we add, subtract and create until it’s our own work of art.

We would love to have an original design that you have created, we need it in PDF format, it needs to have clear instructions, photos and please have it tested.  Contact us at createhopedesigns@gmail.com for more information.  This is an amazing opportunity for you to be part of something amazing!  You’ll be helping those that need it desperately and promoting your business.  You need to know that you will receive nothing but warm fuzzy’s for participating, Create H.O.P.E is a labor of love.  Essentially, you are giving Create H.O.P.E Designs a pattern, forever…like you can’t have it back, or sell it in your own shop too.

How do you go about deciding what foundations you’ll work with?
That’s kind of a hard question to answer.  Let’s just say that China Little Flower, our first foundation and only foundation right now…found us!  They were “hand delivered” by a power greater than all of us and we jumped at the chance.  We’d love suggestions, if you know of a program that really needs Create H.O.P.E Designs, then tell us all about them.  They need to work with orphans and their communities, have a solid background, and be able to prove that nearly all funds received goes to the children they serve.

How do I know that my money is really going to these foundations?
We are working on that right now, translucent records will be available for downloading in the near future.  Plus, we would never do anything with this money but what it is intended for, we like to sleep at night.

Are the children that you show available for adoption?
Yes, in most cases.  If you are truly interested, we encourage you to contact a reputable adoption agency serving the country you are interested in adopting from.  Adoption is complicated and is a process, we do not have the expertise to advise you.  However, as adoptive parents ourselves, you will experience nothing quite like it.  It is rewarding, heartbreaking, and truly a journey of love.  If you’re up to it, go for it!  You’ll never regret it.

I’d like to do something more, can I donate or hold fundraisers for you?
Wow!  That is so sweet!  Please contact us at createhopedesigns@gmail.com and we can help you figure it all out.

My sister is an uber famous blogger, and her husband’s first cousin in Brad Pitt, can we blog about you and can he tell People magazine all about the good news?
Why yes, yes you can!  (blushing).  As for Brad Pitt, tell him we said “hi”, and that we think he’s really cute, and that his kids are really cute, and that if he’s ever in the area I’d love to get a pic.  (This of course is all tongue in cheek, but hey, you never know who might read this.  Angelina?  We think you are the bee’s knee’s sister, six kids look great on you.)

Will you be selling these patterns in paper format?
Nope, sorry.  Selling them in PDF gives us the ability to operate with no overhead.

I own a fabric store, how can I sell them?
Well, if you sell PDF’s, would you be willing to promise, cross your heart, hope to die, stick a needle in your eye if you lie that ALL the money will come back to Create H.O.P.E Designs?  You can’t really charge more for the pattern, but it could be an opportunity to sell fabric.  If you’re down with that, let us know and we’ll get it all taken care of.  Brick and Mortar?  Make up samples and then give the customer all the info they’d need to find us and purchase the pattern.

Why are you doing this?  Whose idea was it?  What are you getting out of it?  Do you really not make any money as a designer?
We are doing this because we can and we should.  Our talents were given to us to bless other’s lives.

It was mine, Shasta Parry and I design with Izzy & Ivy Designs.  However, I have gotten HUGE amounts of help bringing this dream to reality.  So, it really doesn’t matter who’s idea it is, it’s a collaborative effort.

We get immense happiness and well-being knowing that we are making a difference.  We are all crazy busy, so really what’s one more thing?  I also have met some really, really amazing people because of this little adventure, people I would have never met otherwise.

We really truly get no money, nada, zero.  What we do get is warm fuzzy’s and a fantastic opportunity to serve.  It really is a pretty great club, you really should join…very exclusive.  All you need is love baby.

I love your logo and web design!  Who did it?
Well…none other than the super fantastic amazingly talented Shari from Doohikey Designs, she’s a super star and very, very famous!!!  See what I mean when I say I’ve met and worked with some really amazing people?  Be sure to put our handy, dandy button on your blog, she created that too.

Why are you not taking care of the kids right here in the US?  Shouldn’t we help our own first?
First of all, there are designers from all over the world and sewers in every little nook and cranny.  So it makes sense that our efforts are worldwide.  Second, while there are children in the US that need help, there are many, many more in dire circumstances in other continents and countries.  You need to understand that the children we benefit truly have NOBODY, not even their government will help them.  If we don’t help, who will?  Third, you absolutely should help the children in your own country, look around, there are many opportunities to help the children that are literally right under your nose.

Can we make and sell from these patterns?
Yes you can, if it is made by you, the purchaser, in your own home.  We would appreciate it if you credited Create H.O.P.E Designs along with the actual designer for the design.  We understand that you legally aren’t obligated, but you’re nice right?  I thought so.  One more thought, if you even consider sharing or copying any of the patterns, just remember that you are literally stealing from innocent children.  Play fair and play nice.  Do unto others and remember you’d rather have good Karma than bad.  That old saying what goes around comes around?  It’s true, but you would never do such a thing would you?  Didn’t think so.
